Iranian Foreign Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei, contradicting reports of talks with the United States:
“Negotiations were held in Islamabad between Dr. Qalibaf, the honorable Speaker of the Parliament, and the opposing side, the Vice President of the United States, with the mediation of Pakistan. It is very clear, besides that, any discussion about a certain official from the United States having a conversation with a certain official from the Islamic Republic of Iran, or saying something like that, none of it has any real basis.”
