Iran Resumes Crude Oil Exports at Kharg Island After Six-Week Halt
Iran has restarted crude oil loading operations at its key Kharg Island terminal in the Persian Gulf, ending a six-week suspension. The move follows reports that the US Navy has lifted a blockade on Iranian ports, part of an interim peace agreement between Washington and Tehran.
According to industry sources, Iran has already begun shipping approximately 20 million barrels of crude using tankers that were previously positioned near Chabahar. This rapid restart positions Iran as an early beneficiary of the US-Iran deal, allowing it to resume exports despite ongoing safety concerns in the Strait of Hormuz.
Maritime tracking data shows at least 20 additional tankers anchored east of Kharg Island, signaling potential for a significant increase in Persian Gulf crude shipments in the coming weeks.
