No Foul Play Suspected as Israeli Mother and Daughter Remain Missing in Vienna
Vienna police say there is currently no indication of foul play in the disappearance of Israeli mother and daughter Mali and Liel Yehalomi.
Police spokesman Markus Dittrich told Austrian media that standard missing-person procedures, including internal searches and hospital inquiries, have been launched in coordination with Israel’s diplomatic mission in Austria.
The two have been missing in Vienna since Friday and did not board their scheduled flight home Monday night. Family members told Hebrew media they do not believe the women disappeared voluntarily and said there were no ongoing family disputes.
Israeli Police Commissioner Danny Levy convened a high-level assessment Wednesday focused entirely on efforts to locate the women. Senior officials, including the heads of the Investigations and Intelligence Division and Intelligence Unit, Israeli police representatives abroad, and intelligence officers in Austria, briefed Levy on investigative and intelligence efforts in Israel and overseas.
Levy ordered all necessary resources and means to be used without limitation and directed officials to strengthen cooperation with international and local authorities until the women are found.
