Israeli Navy continues interception of Gaza-bound flotilla for second consecutive day
The Israeli Navy sustained its sweeping operation against the “Global Sumud Flotilla” in international waters, systematically tracking down and boarding the remaining vessels attempting to breach the maritime blockade of Gaza.
After raiding and seizing 41 activist boats, naval commandos resumed interdictions, intercepting a vessel named the “Andros” approximately 82 nautical miles from the Gaza coast. The convoy, which originally consisted of more than 50 civilian boats that departed from Marmaris, Turkey, has seen over 40 of its vessels seized by Israeli forces.
Israeli media reports indicate that roughly 300 international activists have been detained during the operation and are being transferred to a naval receiving vessel for transport to the port of Ashdod. A handful of ships remain at sea within 100 nautical miles of the enclave, with the Israeli Navy continuing its pursuit to halt the rest of the fleet.
