US Navy Addresses Concerns Over Conditions on USS Abraham Lincoln

A US Navy sailor posted a video documenting what he claims is the poor condition of the toilets and showers on the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln.

The U.S. Navy today denied reports that service members aboard the carrier have been begging family members to send hygiene supplies.

In addition, families of sailors serving on the ship have told media outlets several crew members have tried to jump overboard or have been stopped from doing so in recent months. There have also been reports of a lack of fresh food on board.

CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper today denied reports of sailors’ poor mental health, saying he visited the aircraft carrier yesterday.

“Of the U.S. Navy’s 11 active aircraft carriers, the Lincoln currently has among the lowest number of cases related to mental health,” the statement read.
