First Female Soldier Completes Specialized Training for Elite Sayeret Matkal
In a historic milestone for the Israel Defense Forces, a female soldier has successfully completed the rigorous training pipeline for the elite Sayeret Matkal special forces unit.
Her graduation marks the first time a woman has achieved combat status within the prestigious commando formation.
The soldier’s path began after she successfully passed a demanding preliminary selection process, demonstrating that she met all the stringent physical and mental baseline criteria required for the unit. Following her selection, she embarked on a specialized training regimen that spanned more than a year and a half.
According to the IDF announcement, she met every operational standard throughout the grueling course.
Military officials commended her groundbreaking achievement, noting that her success serves as a significant milestone in the ongoing integration of women into elite combat roles across the armed forces.
