Just In – Iranian Foreign Minister Condemns Israeli Minister’s Call to “Burn” Lebanon
Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi sharply criticized Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, labeling the Israeli government a “genocidal death cult” amid escalating rhetoric over Lebanon.
In a post on X, Araghchi shared a screenshot of Ben-Gvir’s statement, which demanded aggressive action following reports of four Israeli soldiers killed in southern Lebanon. Ben-Gvir wrote: “All of Lebanon must burn. For every tear of an Israeli mother, a thousand Lebanese mothers must weep.”
Araghchi responded: “This is not a rant by a random genocidal lunatic. It’s a public post by the national security minister of the Israeli regime. The genocidal death cult headquartered in Tel Aviv is a threat to all of humanity. It threatens all humans. Its only interest is permanent war.”
The exchange comes against the backdrop of recent Israeli strikes in Lebanon, a fragile US-Iran memorandum of understanding, and ongoing regional tensions involving Hezbollah.
Araghchi’s remarks underscore Iran’s view that such statements reflect Israel’s broader commitment to perpetual conflict rather than stability.
