Intruder shot dead during break-in at Philadelphia home of Orthodox Jewish family 😱
An intruder in his 40s was shot dead after forcing his way into the home of an Orthodox Jewish family on Griffith Street in Philadelphia around 1:30 a.m. Monday morning.
The suspect entered the daughter’s bedroom, prompting a babysitter who was watching the family’s two children to begin screaming.
A first-floor resident heard the commotion, confronted the suspect with a handgun, and fired a single shot into the intruder’s chest after he refused orders to drop an object he was holding.
The suspect was later pronounced dead at a hospital, while no one inside the home was injured; Philadelphia police are conducting a standard homicide investigation, and no charges have been filed.
